Year 6 Spring Term 2009

 

History: This term we study the 1960’s. The children will have the opportunity to work on a project looking at various aspects of the period

 

Geography: This term we will be looking at various features of rivers.

 

R.E.: We will be continuing our work on Judaism.

 

Science: This term we study Forces. We consider how forces can speed up, slow down and change direction, and measure forces using Newton meters. We learn about gravity, up-thrust, air resistance and the attraction and repulsion of magnets. This will be supported by the visit of representatives from Wylfa who will be providing various activities on forces.

 

Art: We will be studying cubism by looking at some of Picasso’s work. The children will then produce work of their own in this style.

 

Welsh: the children will continue to extend their knowledge of Welsh during a.m. and p.m. registration and this will be further extended in Welsh lessons. The aim is to give children the opportunity to learn and speak another language each day.

 

Homework:

Maths: Given out each week on a Friday. Due in the following Monday.

             

Spelling: Given out on Wednesday each week. Tested the following Wednesday.

 

Welsh: Given out weekly.

 

Science: Given out occasionally.

 

Art: Given out occasionally.
